About Douk Beach

The City’s 2026 coastal assessment uses Douk Beach as a named shoreline profile. Historical reporting connects the name with Depression-era bathing near Siwash Rock and describes changes associated with seawall construction. A historical beach label does not prove that the same sandy layout remains today.

Finding the right arrival point

Use the named shoreline only as an orientation reference alongside the official seawall map. Confirm an open public approach before travelling. This guide does not identify an accessible route down to the beach or authorize climbing over barriers to reach the water.

What to check before visiting

No lifeguard, washroom, food service or designated swimming programme has been verified for this specific site. Tide, waves and temporary coastal closures matter more than a generic beach icon. For a beach day with documented facilities, choose Third Beach or Second Beach.

Combine this stop with nearby places

If you are following the northwestern coast, connect the history with Siwash Rock or the separate Prospect Point area. Keep these as viewing stops from permitted paths rather than assuming every named shore has a safe swimming entry.

Sources and current information

Check current operating details with the responsible operator. A source-review date does not claim an on-site visit; older route references do not establish current access.
