About Prospect Point Playing Field and Picnic Area

The City lists a sheltered Prospect Point picnic site associated with a ball diamond, washrooms and a hot-coal disposal pit. A reserved picnic gathering and use of a playing field are different activities. Confirm any field permit requirements separately before advertising a sports event.

Finding the right arrival point

Use the City’s picnic-area map and your reservation information to find the correct gathering space. The picnic site, Prospect Point viewpoint and shoreline lighthouse should not be treated as interchangeable map pins.

What to check before visiting

The published picnic listing includes pay parking with two accessible stalls nearby. Check the route from the actual stall to your table for the needs of your group. For an organized gathering, use the current booking terms, capacity and fee information; open tables elsewhere do not replace a booked shelter.

Combine this stop with nearby places

A Prospect Point lookout stop may fit before or after the picnic if your group wants it. Bring water and have a rain plan. If visitors need an easier southwest base, compare the family facilities at Second Beach rather than relocating a reservation informally.
