About Lumbermen’s Arch

The City’s public-art record dates the present cedar arch to 1952. It replaced an earlier arch and commemorates British Columbia’s lumber industry. Treat the monument itself and the neighbouring recreation area as related but separate parts of a visit.

Finding the right arrival point

Find the arch on the east-side seawall route. If you arrive from the central bus loop or Aquarium area, plan the connecting walk rather than assuming the bus stops beside the monument. Use a named destination when arranging a pickup.

What to check before visiting

The water park is seasonal; outdoor space does not mean that the sprays, concession and every facility operate together. Read route notices, especially before using the seawall toward the north side of the park.

Combine this stop with nearby places

For a family visit, combine the monument with the spray-park area or a separately booked Aquarium visit. For a quieter landmark walk, use Girl in Wetsuit as a different stop, respecting the path and waterline at each place.
