About Cathedral Trail
The City describes a 75-metre western-redcedar boardwalk built to protect plants and soil, improve drainage and support animal movement. The boardwalk is one section of a route, so its length should not be mistaken for the distance from your bus stop or parking space.
Finding the right arrival point
Start with the Lost Lagoon area and locate the stone-bridge and trail connections on the official map. Choose a route back before entering the forest. The Nature House can provide interpretation when open, but it is not at the boardwalk entrance.
What to check before visiting
Stay on the designated surface and respect closed sections. An elevated boardwalk does not by itself establish step-free access along every approach; gradients, crossings and temporary works can matter. Read access planning and current forest notices before promising a suitable route to someone else.
Combine this stop with nearby places
Combine a short boardwalk visit with Lost Lagoon Path, or use the forest-trail guide to compare a longer option. Avoid stepping into the vegetation for photographs: protecting the habitat is a central reason the boardwalk exists.
