About Prospect Point Lighthouse
The lighthouse marks the north-side maritime approach to Vancouver. The historical specialist source distinguishes it from Brockton Point Lighthouse farther east. A visitor should plan to view the shoreline structure from an open public route, not expect a staffed lighthouse tour.
Finding the right arrival point
Check the official map for the coast below Prospect Point Lookout. Upper parking is not proof of a short or step-free connection to the lower seawall. If stairs, slopes or distance matter, choose your level before setting out and consult access planning.
What to check before visiting
Read current seawall notices before using the northern shoreline. Rock-scaling work and other closures can interrupt the usual approach. Do not attempt a closed trail or an improvised cliff route simply because the map pin looks close to the road.
Combine this stop with nearby places
For a bridge panorama with less need to reach the waterline, consider the upper lookout as the main outing. For another exterior lighthouse stop, compare Brockton Point Lighthouse. Treat the two areas as separate visits when time or walking energy is limited.
