Things to do

Stanley Park Picnics

Choose a picnic place by facilities and the kind of gathering you want. A casual stop with a packed lunch and a reserved group event have different requirements.

Choose a picnic location

Compare a beach-side outing with a more sheltered inland stop. Consider how far food and equipment must be carried, where your group will meet and whether everyone can reach the chosen surface. Second Beach and the surrounding area are one option to research.

Distinguish casual use from reservations

If you need a shelter, organised activity or guaranteed group space, use the City’s reservation information. Do not assume an empty shelter is available for exclusive use. Larger events and commercial activities can need separate permissions.

Plan food facilities and cleanup

Bring drinking water and a plan for rubbish and recycling. Confirm nearby washroom availability and choose food that can be carried and stored appropriately for your outing. Concessions are seasonal alternatives, not guaranteed backups.

Check fire and event restrictions

Check current barbecue, fire, alcohol and event rules for the specific location and date. An older article or past summer programme is not a current permit. Keep food away from wildlife and leave the space ready for the next visitors.

Sources and current information

Check current operating details with the responsible operator. A source-review date does not claim an on-site visit; older route references do not establish current access.
